A More Civilized Age…Exploring the Star Wars Expanded Universe

Last year, Sequart published a pair of anthology books discussing Star Wars, starting with A Long Time Ago… Exploring the Star Wars Cinematic Universe and followed by A Galaxy Far, Far Away… Exploring Star Wars Comics. To round out the trilogy, as is often the case with many things Star Wars, Sequart released its third in the series, A More Civilized Age… Exploring the Star Wars Expanded Universe!

Your humble editor, T-bone (Lou Tambone) is featured in this edition. With the 20th anniversary of the Expanded Universe behemoth Shadows of the Empire having just passed, I was very excited to revisit the multimedia extravaganza of 1996. I was able to conduct interviews with many of the parties responsible for bringing the project to life including Lucy Autrey Wilson, Steve Perry, Alan Kausch, Ryder Windham, Peet Janes, Chris Hockabout, Bill Smith, and even artist Drew Struzan.

Edited by my good friends Rich Handley and Joe Berenato, this third volume offers insightful, analytical essays examining the Star Wars EU, contributed by popular film historians, novelists, bloggers, and subject-matter experts — including a foreword by fan-favorite Star Wars novelist Timothy Zahn.

The films were just the beginning. Find out how the universe expanded.

  1. I have a copy of the original Synopsis for The Star Wars from 1973, I am needing to find out more about it. I have had it for 22 years and just need some info.
