“May the 4th be with you.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Say it out loud once or twice and you’ll either get it, or Star Wars is not really a big influence in your life<\/a>. \u00a0If you’re like me, May the 4th is way more exciting than the other second tier holidays.<\/p>\n

Sweetest day? \u00a0Presidents Day? \u00a0Earth Day? \u00a0International Talk Like a Pirate Day? \u00a0I’d rank May the 4th way above these… in fact, I’d put it in the realm of Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day. \u00a0You don’t get work off, but you celebrate with something a little cheesy<\/a>, fun<\/a>, or crazy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So, HOW do you celebrate May the 4th? \u00a0I have some suggestions. \u00a0I’m probably going to do nearly all of them, but you can pick and choose. \u00a0If you really wanted to go all out, it could be like Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and Memorial Day all rolled into one. \u00a0Dress up, give gifts, smooch a cute girl in a Twi’lek costume and remember those Star Wars people and things we have lost over the last year. \u00a0RIP Clone Wars and Lucasarts \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n

  1. Quote Star Wars lines to anyone and everyone who will listen. \u00a0They are applicable in all situations. \u00a0Someone says they’ll try to make it to your Star Wars party? \u00a0“Do or do not, there is no try.” \u00a0Someone calls you an idiot? \u00a0“I find your lack of faith disturbing.” \u00a0They get angry? \u00a0“I can feel your anger. \u00a0It gives you focus, makes you stronger.” \u00a0*you may want to duck<\/a> at some point.<\/li>\n
  2. Send Star Wars e-cards, memes, and tweets. \u00a0Quotes are good for this as well. www.starwars.com\/ecards<\/a> has even done some work for you, or you can always google it.<\/li>\n
  3. Change your facebook picture to your favorite Star Wars character. \u00a0If you have photoshop skills<\/a> this becomes even more fun. \u00a0While you’re at it, photoshop all your friends into Star Wars characters… they’ll thank you later.<\/li>\n
  4. Lots of places have Star Wars related festivities. \u00a0Check your local libraries, restaurants, bars, comic book stores, etc. \u00a0I’m going to Star Wars Trivia at a local pizza place; Empire Pizza… you should not be surprised<\/a> at this name.<\/li>\n
  5. Check with your area 501st garrison<\/a>. \u00a0I’m lucky enough to have one in my area. \u00a0Shout out to the Carolina Garrison<\/a>! \u00a0If they aren’t doing something in your area… MOVE!<\/li>\n
  6. Throw a party and serve Wookiee cookies, blue milk, or any creation you can come up with<\/a>. \u00a0Cake is always good<\/a>. \u00a0Other suggestions you say? Tie fritters? \u00a0Boba Fettucine? \u00a0Pizza the Hutt? \u00a0Why am I doing all the work?<\/li>\n
  7. Watch the Star Wars movies for the 124th time. \u00a0If you don’t have all day, just watch this<\/a>\u00a0and this one too<\/a>\u00a0(PG-13).<\/li>\n
  8. Finally, due to the alignment of the planets, May the 4th is also FREE COMIC BOOK DAY<\/a>! \u00a0Go to your local comic book store and buy something. \u00a0Anything. \u00a0Support these hard working people or when you really need them they may not be there for you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In all seriousness… go buy a comic and be a kid for the day.<\/p>\n
